What to know

The Double Protocol feature requires proper support both in Hardware and Firmware.

Hardware

UniOP panels hardware version is reported in the unit data label. Following table reports hardware minimum requirements:

Firmware Type Minimum Hardware Version
32 33B (applies only to panel models with 2 built-in serial ports)
33 33B
37 Double Protocol NOT Supported
38 38B
48 ANY
52 ANY
53 ANY
54 ANY
56 ANY
58 58A, from SN 3534393
60/61 ANY
70/71 ANY
76 ANY

NOTE: eTOP40 (Firmware Type 58) panels represent an exception: eTOP40 units have HW ready for DProto operation starting from SN 4440202

Firmware

Double protocol is supported starting from firmware version 5.00

Designer

Double protocol is supported starting from Designer version 6.01

Communication interfaces

In case of double serial protocols configuration each protocol occupies one serial port, operator panel models with a single serial interface requires the use of a plug-in serial interface module (TCM15 or TCM16).

In case of double ethernet protocols configuration the communication is done trough a single ethernet port that can be the integrated one in case of panels with integrated ethernet interface or can be the one provided by installing an ethernet optional module (SCM11 or 12, TCM10)

NOTE: if a TCM10 module is used only the support of UDP/IP protocols is possible, TCP/IP protocols are not supported by this interface.
