As a Senior System Administrator at Exor International, you will manage, maintain, and optimize the corporate and group IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and high performance.
Infrastructure Overview:
- 400 users
- Users and systems located across 13 sites in Italy and internationally (USA, Germany, India, Croatia, Romania, Oceania)
- 3 main server farms (including one for disaster recovery) and 3 additional peripheral sites
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux)
- Administer cloud environments (Azure)
- Configure and maintain networks, firewalls, VPNs, and security systems
- Automate processes using scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) with MDM and EDB (Baramundi)
- Oversee backups (Veeam) and disaster recovery (Nutanix asynchronous replication)
- Provide second- and third-level technical support
- Manage vulnerability assessments and implement remediations
- Maintain technical documentation and update IT policies
Requirements
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a system administrator or in similar roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems in hyperconverged server farm environments (Nutanix) and virtualization platforms (VMware)
- Experience with monitoring tools (PRTG)
- Good understanding of network protocols, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
- Knowledge of Microsoft authentication services (AD and Entra ID)
- Experience with Sophos Firewall, End Point Security, and VPN
- Familiarity with mail relay servers (Libra Esva) and email management using Exchange Online
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects
- Good written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel occasionally to company locations
