Project highlights

Ferraro collaborated with Exor International group companies to centralize the architecture of its textile machinery through an integrated ecosystem combining machine control, HMI, connectivity, and cloud capabilities.

The goal was to reduce complexity, improve reliability, and standardize software development while introducing advanced remote assistance and energy management capabilities.

The result is a more scalable, service-oriented platform that provides real-time visibility into energy consumption, performance, and operating costs while creating the foundation for future digital services.

Ferraro’s Challenge

Standardizing automation while enabling new digital services

With a strong international presence and machines operating in complex production environments, Ferraro needed to evolve an automation architecture that had become fragmented and increasingly difficult to manage over time.

Poorly integrated systems increased complexity, maintenance effort, and software standardization challenges. At the same time, they limited the ability to introduce structured remote assistance, data collection, greater connectivity, and new data-driven digital services.

The objective was therefore not simply to add more technology, but to create a more integrated and manageable architecture capable of supporting both machine automation and its future digital evolution.
